The reasons for the popularity of plasterboard are known: this material is used during the construction and repair of premises of any purpose. With it, you can quickly and relatively cheaply align the walls and ceilings, construct interior partitions, create complex geometric curvilinear surfaces. This provides ample designers to implement the most bold projects of the interior device. In order to realize all the features of drywall, you need to know the basic properties of this material in order to be able to use it correctly.

Properties of plasterboard

During construction work, when creating various elements of the interior, the following qualities of this material are used:

  • small weight plates, so that they can be mounted on the ceiling;
  • good heat and soundproof properties, which is important for interior partitions and wall decorations;
  • The ability to be bent due to which the arches of interrooms from drywall and other curvilinear structures are created;
  • Plasterboard - does not burn;
  • Mature of species (arched, moisture resistant, ceiling).

Plasterboard is mainly used in conjunction with metal profiles serving a skeleton. To ensure that the design is reliable, the fasteners should be applied correctly.

How to make a box of plasterboard

In order to hide various communications (wiring, water pipes and heating pipes), rectangular boxes are built. In this way, decorative rash balks with built-in lamps, shelves and other elements of the interior are created.

The drywall box can be created by various designs:

  • M-shaped box - mounted between the floor and wall, ceiling and wall (horizontally), in the corner between the walls (vertically);
  • P-shaped box is installed on any surface of the room capable of withstanding the load.

The boxes are collected in the form of separate designs or combined into a monolithic circuit, passing along the walls of the entire room.

Dancer from plasterboard

In order to make a box of plasterboard on the ceiling, you must act as follows.

  1. The surface to which the box will be attached must be aligned. The angle between the horizontal and vertical surfaces should be the same along the entire length (as a rule, it is 90 °).
  2. Using the level and roulette, the boundaries of the future box are placed. It should take into account the thickness of the plasterboard (usually 12.5 mm). You must use a folding cord. From the angle (if he is ideal) the same distances in both directions are postponed. Otherwise it will take a hydroelectric background. Waterpas is used for mounting to the overlap.
  3. If necessary, the electrical wiring is installed to install point lights.
  4. On the line of external borders with the help of dowel-nails fasten metal-pills. To do this, you will need a perforator.
  5. Using the same metal profile, mount the hard frame: connect the elements with screws for metal. For cutting profiles, apply scissors for metal or Bulgarian.
  6. The correct fastening of parts is controlled by a laser level and cords.
  7. Details of the box are cut from drywall: the fastening is also made using metal screws, for which a screwdriver is used. Self-tapping screws should be screwed.
  8. Holes are prepared for installing lamps where wiring is displayed.
  9. In places docking parts from plasterboard with adjacent surfaces, a serpent ribbon is pasted. Using a putty attached perforated outer angle. This is necessary in order to prevent the appearance of cracks.
  10. After processing the primer, the drywall box is sweeping, after which the decorative paint is applied or the wallpaper is pasted. Point luminaires are connected and fixed.

The box vertical is assembled similarly. Vertical planes are controlled using a plumb and construction level. Installed labels are connected by the folding cord. On the lines of secure profiles (the distance between the dowel-nail - no more than 400 mm) and it is plasterboard. Self-tapping screws must fall into metal profiles, the width of which can be different and is selected depending on the intended load (25, 50, 75 or 100 mm).

Gypsum Niches in the Wall

If the partition, built from this sheet material, is quite thick - it becomes possible to build a niche from plasterboard. It can be used for the device of the built-in closet or to decorate the room. Lower Sun can be made of laminated chipboard, glass or mirrors. Of them, the shelves are constructed. Often niches are used to mask heating radiators. The original designer solution may be a niche for a TV from plasterboard.

The niche structure is part of the work on the creation of a frame for the interior partition or for falseland. As a rule, these are rectangular volumetric designs.

Niche from plasterboard

Niches from drywall do with their own hands similarly to the boxes, but some nuances and differences are: these structures must often withstand significant loads. How to make a hide from drywall so that it is durable? The following rules must be followed.

  1. The left and right inner face of the niches must be attached to the rack profiles installed on the floor to the ceiling and fixed to the walls.
  2. Jumpers between the wall and rack profiles must be jumpers. Connecting profiles must be fixed between the racks.
  3. Additional fastening elements and rigidity edges should be provided if the niche will carry the load.
  4. When building a niche in the bathrooms, it is necessary to calculate the niche geometry so that with tiles can be used with whole elements.
  5. The slopes filled with plasterboard must be based on the lower edges on rigidly fixed horizontal parts.

How to make slips from drywall

This method of finishing the installed door and window blocks can be used only for internal work. Sucks from drywall side faces of the doorway are created in two ways:

  • by gluing parts from sheet material with a special mixture to the wall;
  • by mounting drywall with self-draws to a predetermined frame from dd profiles.

The first method is possible if the quality of the wall surface at the site of the conquest structure is satisfactory. In the event that the gluing is impossible - dd profile is attached to the wall and parts of the door frame, and it is plasterboard. For trimming angles, a perforated element is used, and the locations of the connections with the doorbreaker - the serpent ribbon. For docking with doors or window parts, you can use plastic L-shaped starting profiles: they will help hide a not very flat facet of material.

Ducks from plasterboard
Sucks on the windows of plasterboard are arranged in the same way. In order for the swap windows and door leafs to be damaged when the sloping surface is opened, the limiters are installed.

You can warm the slopes from the drywall: with the help of a can be powered by a small hole in the cavity, a mounting foam is served.

How to make a plasterboard arch

For trimming passes between adjacent rooms, window openings and to create an interior are used plasterboard arches. The main complexity in their construction is the manufacture of curvilinear elements.

Frame for Ark

First of all, to create an arch, you need to create a frame from the UD profile. To do this, its parallel faces should be cut to metal scissors completely, approximately every 5 cm, after which - to form two identical radius parts of the required configuration and sizes. Curvilinear profiles are fastened with self-tapping and straight dudge profiles to the upper and side sides of the opening.

The arch of plasterboard is created in two ways. The first - with the help of a sheet material bent after wipe:

  • The detail carved from drywall is processed by a needle roller: it pierces the paper layer;
  • With the help of a wet foam sponge, the part is moisturized;

Important: moisture should be moderately, otherwise the item collapses!

  • It is neatly applied to the place of installation and fixed by self-drawing to the profile;
  • The angle is frozen by a plastic element for curvilinear forms;
  • Putty and further decoration arches are performed.

Applications are used for the manufacture of arches. Templates: the moistened part of the drywall is fixed on the figure made according to the necessary dimensions, and after drying it is fixed in place.

Gym Plasterton

The second method of bending of drywall is dry, does not provide for wigging. In the direction perpendicular to the fold line, cuts of the paper layer are performed (on the one hand) at a distance of about 5 cm from each other. After that, the sheet is premounced, bends and screwed to the metal frame with self-draws. This method is more suitable for surfaces with a large radius of curvature. Further decoration of the arch is performed using putty and other finishing materials.
