The qualitative implementation of construction and repair work is almost impossible without the use of various grids. One of these materials includes facade mesh. They have such indisputable advantages:
- inconsistency of rotting and corrosion;
- ease of cutting;
- easy dismantling and use on other objects.

Main types of facade nets
Depending on the application of the facade mesh for construction are divided into:
- protective;
- plaster.
The main purpose of the facade protective grid is to ensure security for people in the construction or repair of buildings. They act as a fence of construction sites. Thanks to the front grid on the fence and the adjacent territory, dust and trash do not fall. In addition, it protects the erected building from the devastating effect of wind, precipitation and sun rays.
With the help of a plastering facade mesh, a plastering and putty trim of houses is qualitatively carried out. Thanks to the light weight and inconsistence of corrosion, it has become a great replacement of the grid for reinforcing metal. And fiberglass, which is part of the composition, and impregnating with a polymer composition make it absolutely resistant to alkaline reactions.
Purpose and parameters of the material
The reinforcing grid for facade works is used when strengthening:
- plasterers and putty;
- liquid waterproofing material;
- flooring;
- finishing thermal insulation material;
- concrete tie under tile.
In most cases, the acquisition of the type of grid depends on the thickness of the plaster:
- a layer of up to 2 cm - the grid will not need;
- 2-3 cm - the installation of the facade mesh made of fiberglass is carried out;
- 3-5 cm - Metal reinforcing mesh is used.
In the presence of drops of heights above 5 cm it is not recommended to be plastered the surface.
The facade reinforcing grid must have the following characteristics:
- cell size - more than 5 * 5 mm;
- density - 110-160 g / m².
Fiberglass Mesh Laying
Immediately before the fastening of the front mesh made of fiberglass, measurements of the treated surface are measured. Based on this, cuttings are cut. The grid can be laid both along and across. If there is a rust in the facade of rusts, its mount is carried out along the seams by a solid piece of canvas. When there are no rusts, then you can lay the grid in any sequence. The main thing is that the entire surface is covered with her. To effectively strengthen the seams between the adjacent surfaces, the facade mesh for plaster is cut off with a reserve of 12-15 cm.
The technology of mounting the facade mesh made of fiberglass consists of the following steps:
- application on the surface of a layer of plaster or putty;
- laying the mesh inside the plaster;
- applying the second layer of finishing material.
And there is a possibility of reinforcement of the entire surface, and not just the plastering layer. This is possible when applying plaster with a thickness of over 10 mm. But this requires a strengthening of the design by using additional materials.
Laying the facade mesh under the plaster provides for such consecutive actions:
- marking works for the installation of beacons;
- drilling holes and insert in them dowels;
- screwing screws;
- alignment their hats on the installation of lighthouses;
- applying the first layer of plaster;
- mounting mesh to screws screws;
- coating plaster adjacent section;
- docking of the necklace of neighboring canvases (10 mm);
- application on established beacons of the second layer of plaster.
When using a mesh from fiberglass, a uniform application of a plaster solution is carried out throughout the separated surface. The process of smoothing the plaster begins with the middle part of the mesh with an alternate movement in various directions. Two wide spatula are used. One is pressed by pressing the corners. The second spatula is needed to smooth out the facade mesh from above.
Nuances of working with a metal grid
If there is a plastering layer with a thickness of more than 3 cm for the surface reinforcement, it is advisable to use a metal mesh with cells 10 * 10 mm. Before fastening it should be degreed. If this is a galvanized grid, it is enough just to wipe it with a wet rag.
The main stages of installation of a metal reinforcing grid include:
- cutting cloths;
- drilling holes;
- dowel screwing;
- fastening plaster mesh;
- installation of metal lighthouses;
- applying the first layer of plaster;
- drying surface;
- applying a second plaster layer.
The size of the canvas depends on the way they are installed: along or across. The presence of rusts involves the location of the metal mesh with solid canvas along the seams. The drilling of the holes is carried out at a depth, which exceeds the length of the dowel by 2-3 mm. The drilling step is 20-30 cm. On average, 1 m² will have to do approximately 16 holes.
After screwing up the dowels into the holes, the plaster mesh on the surface occurs. For this apply screws and mounting tape. Special attention is paid to reliable fastening of the extreme parts of the grid. Neighboring canvases are placed on each other with an overlap at 10 cm. If the grid is behind the surface in some places, a few more additional holes should be drilled. Staying the grid, the montage of lighthouses.
Walking the first layer of plaster is carried out by a trowel. The solution is pressed through the grid. It should cling to the surface of the facade. After that, there is a uniform smoothing of the solution with a grater or spatula. Applying the second plaster layer is made after complete drying of the first.
