When carrying out repair work, close attention should be paid to interroom doors. Sometimes they will need only their restoration. But in most cases, the old design will not be harmoniously combined with the interior created. We will have to resort to replacing interroom doors.

Types of designs
Before dismantling the old door, you need to decide on the material from which the new design will be made. Doors are available from plastic, wood and metal. Wooden doors made from oak, cherries, pines, maple or walnut are best suitable as interior doors.
Depending on the type of canvas, interior doors are:
- pililee;
- shield.
For the production of panel doors, both solid wood wood and soft can be used. The first designs are characterized by high cost. Therapy doors made of soft trees (for example, pine) are inexpensive. But for durability they are inferior products from solid wood.
The most acceptable option would be paneled interior design, made from composite materials. Hardwood veneer is manufactured. For the device is used inside of the door soft wood or fiberboard. This door is characterized by:
- excellent resistance to the effects of temperature and humidity drops;
- affordable cost;
- long operating period (up to 50 years).
The most common type are interroom shield doors. The basis for the manufacture of the shield can be various materials:
- high-strength cardboard;
- Fiberboard or chipboard;
- wooden rails;
- plywood;
- veneer.
Panel structures with glazing are particularly popular. Thanks to the presence of glass, the interior door is given an individual style.
The main criteria for selecting interroom doors are:
- appearance;
- the size;
- the direction of opening the door;
- material quality;
- resistance to deformation;
- durability;
- soundproofing properties;
- color shade;
- security.
Given all these requirements, the price of replacement of interroom doors is determined, the number and type of accessories with additional elements.
Preparatory stage
Conditionally replacing with their own hands of interior doors consists of three main stages:
- dismantling old design;
- assembly door box;
- fastening the door canvas.
Work begins with dismantling the old door. Using the hammer and the chisel, the platbands are broken from the door frame. After that, with the help of a bar and scrap, the door leaf is removed. Scrap rests in the bar, fit under the door and leans against himself. Doors are removed from the loops.
Next you need to cut the vertical stand of the door frame. It is done in the center of the racks. Using a nail, the door frame is pulled out of the opening. This work is carried out carefully. Walls and partitions should not be destroyed.
The doorway is cleaned from the miserable coating, dust and garbage. It is embedded by plaster depressions and cracks. If you need to expand the opening, you should use the perforator. The narrowing of the opening is carried out by applying a plaster mortar.
As a result of the preparatory work, the sizes of the opening should be greater than the size of the canvas:
- 5-10 cm - width;
- 5-7 cm - height.
It should also be noted that the creation of too wide opening when the interior door can decrease the stability indicator of the entire structure. Since the mounting foam with which the doors will be installed, does not have reliable fastening properties. Yes, and too narrow opening is also undesirable. Sometimes it will have to carry the overall furniture by him.
Build door box
This stage begins with the measurement of the opening. According to its results, the bars are cut out for the upper crossbar and two side racks. The box in a horizontal position is going.
The extreme part of the crossbar is cut on both sides at an angle of 45º. Racks are cut only in the top. When combining racks, the letter "P" should turn out. Moreover, the side racks should be located strictly perpendicular to the upper crossbar.
It is immediately necessary to make a reservation that when the doorway device is left to the gap between it and the web thickness up to 4 mm. Doors must be opened without problems. It should also be provided for the presence of a gap for the castle.
To perform this task, a rectangle is cut out of the cardboard, which has the following dimensions:

- width - 2.5-3 cm.
The cardboard rectangle is laid between the box and the web.
To connect racks and crossbars, the box uses self-tapping screws. Their length should exceed 5 cm thick racks. With the help of the electric drills, the holes are predefined in the connecting places of the racks and crossbar. The diameter of the hole must be less than the diameter of the self-press of 1 mm.
After connecting the crossbar to the racks, the loops are fixed to the box and the canvas. They are mounted at a distance of 15-25 cm from the extreme part of the canvas. The fastening technology loops consists of the following steps:
- loops are applied to the place of attachment;
- marker marked location loops;
- according to the outlined lines using a stationery knife, a decorative layer of construction is clipped;
- the chisel is made of recesses under the loop;
- the recess is covered with 2-3 layers of nitrolac;
- applying loops, screw holes are created;
- screws are screwed and loops are fixed.
Door box is inserted into the opening. She should not write over the extreme parts of the opening. On each side of the door frame is made by three holes for reliable fixation to the wall. They are screwed in them.
In the process of operation, the width of the new opening is measured both at the top and lower. The distance between the vertical racks should be the same. Self-tapping screws are invisible with plastic plugs.
Installation and framing of the door leaf
Door canvas hang out on the installed loops. Immediately checks the correctness of its opening.
There are two main rules that confirm the qualitative performance of work:
- Door canvas should not open or closed independently.
- The interroom door must easily pass into the box.
After final verification of the correct location of the door leaf, the mounting foam of the gap between the wall and the door frame is filling. Before taking a cylinder with foam in hand, you need:
- use the sprayer to moisten the wall with water (the adhesion of foam and plastering improves);
- plug the door frame with a special painting scotch tape (the box will not get dirty);
- insert between the box and the cloth are narrow and long pieces of plywood (prevent the door clamp when the foam expansion).
The gap between the box and the wall is closed on three sides of the professional high-quality installation foam. Full drying of the foam will occur after a day after use. To close the same door, you will need only one balloon of mounting foam. The next day, an extra mounting foam, protruding the wall plane, is cut with a sharp knife.
The final stage provides for the implementation of the following consecutive actions:
- lock lock;
- installation of good slats;
- installation of platbands;
- fastening the stop.
Installing the lock begins with its applying to the scene. This is usually somewhere at 0.9-1 m from the floor. With the help of a pencil on the canvas, the outline of the castle is made, the shifting places of screws for fastening the mechanism are noted.
Using the wheel nozzle for a drill, the holes are drilled under the handle. With the help of the chisel, a deepening is knocked out, intended for the lock case. The lock is inserted into the recess made and fixed with screws. This operation is done on both sides of the doorway.
Sometimes the replacement of interior doors involves the installation of a good plank. Their installation is carried out in the case when there is too much gap between the opening and the door frame.
Installation of platbands is cleaned with a box. When determining their length, it should be taken into account that the upper part of the platbands is poured at an angle of 45º. When in the room, smooth walls and platbands are made of lightweight material (for example, MDF), it is possible to use liquid nails for fixing them. In other cases, it is better to use finish nails or self-drawing with decorative plugs.
The work is completed by the stop by the device. This element is attached to the wall or floor. The main purpose of the stop is to prevent the wall damage when opening the door.
replacement glass
Sometimes you can face the fact that the glass door was broken or cracked. Need to purchase a new product and carry out the replacement of windows in the interior door. This process consists of three stages:
- dismantling of broken glass;
- preparation of a new product;
- glass installations.
Removing the old glass begins with pulling out nails that hold the strokes. The chisel is inserted between the fold and the stroke. To move the stroke, it should be carefully pressed. After that, the tool is pulling out, and the stroke returns to its place. Nails near the stapper can be pulled out.
Preparation of the new glass is to clean it from moisture and dirt. For washing, you can use food soda. If the glass is not cleaned from plaque and contaminants, then the cutting process will noticeably complicate. Often, such glass is splitted not by the marked line of the cut.
The process of cutting glass itself is carried out using a wooden rail and glass cutter. Glass stacked horizontally. The normal performance of the glass cutter is checked on an invisible piece of glass. If there is a thin colorless band, you can use the tool. If white and coarse features are obtained, then new glass cutter should be purchased.
Cutting glass for interior doors is performed in the following sequence:
- wooden rail is applied to the glass;
- the roller of glass cutter, slightly pressing, is carried out along the racks;
- under the end, the glass is mounted on the extreme part of the table;
- light pressure is done on the glass, and it breaks along the line of the outbreak.
When cutting glass, it should be provided for the presence of a 2-milemmeter gap between the binding folds. Due to this, two tasks are solved:
- when installing the glass without problems will take its place in the binding;
- glass will not burst with the use of the interroom door.
Before installing glass in the binding is made:
- cleaning false from old paint and other contaminants;
- the processing of their special putty, which includes the oil and chalk.
Installation of glass is derived from the lower edge of the fold. For its reliable fixation, the strokes are used, which are attached with nails. After final installation, the strokes are covered with varnish or painted.
