Mixers are an integral attribute of bathrooms. Their service life, water supply efficiency and lack of leaks depends on high-quality installation. Installing the crane in the bathroom is not a huge problem. It can be done with your own hands.

Varieties of mixers

At first, it should be sorted out what type of design should be purchased. The three main types of cranes and bathroom faucets are distinguished:

• valve;
• lever;
• thermostatic.

The cheapest products are valve mixers. Water supply by them is carried out by unscrewing two valves. One is intended for a jet of cold water, the second is hot. By using both the valves, the water of the specified temperature is obtained at both valves.

The amount of water supplied to taking a shower or bathroom is regulated by crane boxes. They are inside the mixer. Rubber gaskets that are located in the crane boxes are the most vulnerable place with the use of valve cranes for the bathroom.

The lever mixer is a more modern bathroom tap with a shower. Water supply is carried out using one lever. Moreover, it is regulated both the temperature of the water and its pressure. Of course, it simplifies the use of the mixer.

The lever devices are:

• ball;
• ceramic.

The first of these is supplied with water by a ball which is disposed inside the mixer. It consists of three holes intended to:

• hot water;
• cold water;
• mixed water.

When driving lever adjustment is performed for the location of ball holes and the pressure of the supplied liquid from the supply system.

Ceramic faucet in the bathroom comprises cartridge. Adjusting the temperature and pressure of water also is carried by a lever. The principle of operation of a ceramic mixer in many ways similar to the spherical product. The only difference - is the presence of two ceramic plates instead of the ball.

Among the latest developments that are directly attributable to the mixers, highlight the release of thermostatic devices. Use of them does not provide temperature control and water pressure by:

• rotating valves;
• moving the lever.

Several options for mounting mixers

The height of the installation of the mixer over the bath can be quite different. Usually it is in the range of 10-15 cm from the bead structure. In some cases, the valves can be positioned at the height of the placement of ceramic tiles. But then you have the right to draw water pipe.

The originality of the room can be given by placing the mixer on a wall in an unusual place. The main requirement is the placement of the bath right next to the wall on which the valve is located. Spray the water pressure must go directly into the drain, and not drain the floor along the walls.

A very original and spectacular designer is the installation of a bathroom mixer on a rack. This type of construction is more suitable for spacious premises. Replacing the mixer

• cleaning fitting from the old winding and dirt.

The installation of the crane in the bathroom must pursue the solution of two main tasks:

• accurate fit to the mixer of eccentric;
• high quality connection of threaded elements.

Work is carried out in the following sequence:

• eccentrics are wrapped with palauls, wrapped in sealant;
• they are screwed into fittings in the wall;
• the cape nuts of the mixer are attached to the eccentric;
• inserted hussak crane;
• the shower hose is screwed;
• the shower sprayer will join the hose.

The screwing of the eccentrics into fittings is carried out using a filter key. They must be tightened until it stops. Moreover, the distance between the eccentrics should coincide with the distance between the cape nuts of the mixer. Their outer portion is covered with a decorative plank, which is close to the wall.

Mandatory need to pay attention to the thread of the Eccentric. If it is too acute, it will entail damage to the packley. As a result, the leakage of the crane will arise. It is possible to avoid leaks by stitching the eccentric's pointed turns.

In the nuts located on the mixer, rubber gaskets are inserted. They must be necessarily the same size. Together with the mixer, the nuts are screwed to the eccentrics, which are wrapped with a sealant package (can be used and fum-tape). To prevent breakdown, nuts are not tightened too much.

After fixing the case in its lower part, the hussak is inserted. The hussak is winding a hose designed to take a shower. By the way, the hose must be equipped with the same nuts. One it connects with the hussak, the second - with a shower sprayer. Tightening nuts is carried out manually.

The operating period of using the mixer can be increased in two main ways:

• by high-quality installation design;
• with the assurance of proper care.

Caring for the mixer lies in the periodic cleaning of the turns of the eccentric thread from the limescale. This uses a brass brush.
