Every motorist dreams of a garage in which it is convenient to engage in the repair of the vehicle. One of the conditions for the effective functioning of the room is the presence of durable and reliable gender. The most acceptable solution for the garage will be the creation of a concrete base. On how to fill the floor in the garage, and it will be discussed in our article.

Features of the creation of concrete floor
There are a number of requirements that are necessarily taken into account when the floor is in the garage. The main ones are:
- wear resistance (permanently intensive coating operation);
- strength (mechanical exposure);
- moisture resistance (condensate indoors, involuntary leaks of liquid from cars);
- inertia to chemicals, engine oil and fuel.
All data requirements are complied with the concrete floor in the garage. In addition to the above characteristics, the floors from concrete have such advantages:
- versatility;
- maintainability;
- economy;
- resistant to high temperatures;
- short term of fill;
- solid operating period.
To correctly fill the floor with concrete, you should take care of creating the correct slope of the surface. It should be up to 2 cm per 1 m length of the garage. And the slope is made towards the lattice for the drain or gate.
In small garages (up to 50 m²) compensation gaps are necessarily created. They are placed around the pillars, pipes and walls of the inside of the room. Creating gaps occurs at the floor tie device in the garage. To this end, are used:
- dilatation tape;
- special plastic profile;
- the strip of polystyrene foam.
Preparatory work
Conditionally, this stage can be divided into two stages:
- preparation of the foundation;
- preparation of the working solution.
The preparation of the base includes:
- creating and tamping a sandy-gravel pillow with a thickness of 15-20 cm;
- waterproofing work;
- reinforcement of the base.
Ruberoid or polyethylene film with a thickness of 200 microns is used as a waterproofing material. Film should be laid in two layers. Its extreme part is on the walls of 8-10 cm.
Conducting thermal insulation work is advisable when the garage will be heated. The insulation is extruded polystyrene foam. Its thickness should be 6-10 cm.
Reinforcement of the base is a mandatory procedure. The reinforcement grid will strengthen the floor and prevents the process of its cracking. The size of the reinforcement is influenced by the degree of load on the floor. It is better to use the reinforcement grid, the size of the cells of which is 15 * 15 cm, and the diameter is 12 mm.
To fill the floor in the garage, a solution is manufactured, which includes:
- 1 h cement brand M200 or M300;
- 3 h. Sand;
- 5 h. Gravel;
- water, which is added as needed.
A cooked sand, which is covered by cement. Cement with sand is thoroughly mixed. After that, water is gradually added. As a result of mixing components, a homogeneous mass should turn out. After frustration, gravel into the solution, some more water flows. Within 30-40 minutes, the solution must be consumed.
You can use dry construction mixtures. They contain fibrovolock and plasticizer, which improve the strength characteristics of the screed. Such leveling mixtures are used when the finishing screed device is applied. The thickness of their application does not exceed 3 cm.
Pouring concrete floor
At this stage, it is necessary to adhere to the technology of filling concrete. Otherwise, the appearance of cracks on the floor is guaranteed by a few months of active use of the garage.
Before pouring the floor screed, you should make the markup of the base and install the beacons. On the perimeter of the garage should be driven by metal columns. Between them stretches the fishing line. And it is done both between extreme and diagonal columns.
The zero point is determined, which displays the height of the screed and is a reference point for lighting mounted. Usually the floor thickness in the garage is 3-7 cm. The exact size depends on the basis of the base (the presence of the basement, the device of the "warm floor" system, etc.).
Installation of beacons is carried out on a concrete solution or alabaster. The distance between the adjacent rows of beacons should not exceed the length of the rules that the solution will be resurrected. All lighthouses should be located in one horizontal plane. For their high-quality installation, a long level is used.
Pouring the solution begins with the very long corner of the garage. In the plug-in screed, the extreme parts of beacons should be seen. Work is accompanied by a concrete rubbing. Cement "Milk" should appear on the concrete surface.
This will evict the removal of air bubbles and emptiness from the solution. Moreover, it is proved that due to thorough mixing and tamping of the solution, the strength of concrete coating increases almost 2 times.
Kelma immediately lines the places where the floor adjoins the walls. Compensation seams are made in both concreting surface and after setting the solution. But they do not leave them open. Seams are protected from garbage from entering the assembly foam or plastic profiles.
After several hours, the concrete will freeze and then it is necessary to accumulate the surface of the surface with a wooden grater. You can use a special throat machine. If the solution is quickly folded, the floor can be covered with cracks. Therefore, the entire surface should be covered with hygroscopic materials (sawdust, chips or burlap) and periodically wateted with water.
Due to the large loads on the floor and huge temperature drops in the garage, it is also necessary to strengthen the surface. For this, a month after pouring the solution, the surface is processed by a special impregnation. Pores of concrete are closed, due to which the coating is protected from abrasion. Floor hardening is carried out once a year.
Concrete screed device in garage basement
Some car enthusiasts are equipped with a basement in the garage. In this case, special attention is paid to the qualitative conduct of waterproofing work. The most reliable materials are crushed stone and sand, which needs to be strongly tumped.
After the waterproofing device, flood the floor in the basement of the garage. Then we create a vapor barrier, which is designed to prevent moisture from entering the soil. The vapor insulation material is covered with a second layer of concrete solution.
When creating a concrete coating, the location of groundwater should be taken into account. In some cases, the waterproofing material may not be enough. In view of the large pressure of groundwater, the process of imputing the room will occur.
The thickness of the concrete floor is determined from the depth of groundwater:
- if the groundwater rises to a height of up to 20 cm, then the minimum screed thickness should be 10-15 cm;
- when lifting groundwater to 1 m, the thickness of the concrete coating should be 50-55 cm.
In the first embodiment, it is enough to create a concrete floor according to standard technology. The coating will withstand the pressure of groundwater. If the groundwater rises to the height of up to 1 m and above, then the fill of the concrete floor is an inappropriate occupation. First of all, it is necessary to strengthen the base.
This process is carried out taking into account the peculiarities of the garage and the level of groundwater. There are such ways to enhance concrete gender:
- the use of a huge amount of reinforcement with a large diameter;
- the framework of the frame from the reinforcement, equipped with chapellers and interrelated with walls;
- installation of columns and other structures that evenly distribute the load throughout the basement area;
- creating an additional sandy-gravel subfolder (used for basements that are not operated).
